Die Leistungskurse Geschichte und Englisch des 2. Semesters arbeiteten vom 13. bis 20. Mai 2018 an einem Projekt zum Thema Holocaust in New York.<\/p>\n

Diese Projektarbeit ersetzt die 2. Leistungskursklausur in Form einer multimedialen Pr\u00e4sentation. Im Museum of Jewish Heritage wurde das j\u00fcdische Leben in verschiedenen L\u00e4ndern Europas vor, w\u00e4hrend und nach dem Holocaust recherchiert. \u00dcberlebende des Holocaust berichteten zudem von ihren pers\u00f6nlichen Erlebnissen und Erfahrungen auf der Flucht, im Versteck oder im Vernichtungslager. Das Archiv des Leo Baeck Instituts erm\u00f6glichte erg\u00e4nzende und vertiefende Recherchen zu Opfern und \u00dcberlebenden des Holocaust.  Im Lengyel Institute for Holocaust Studies and Human Rights berichtete Prof. Dr. Perl \u00fcber die Geschichte sowie \u00fcber die Arbeit des Instituts. Anschlie\u00dfend hielten drei New Yorker Staatsanw\u00e4lte eine Pr\u00e4sentation zum Thema  in New Bias and Hate Crimes in New<\/em> York<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Ein weiterer Programmpunkt war ein Besuch in der Columbia Secondary School (Schulprojekt der ber\u00fchmten Columbia University), wo \u00fcber active and responsible citizenship<\/em> diskutiert wurde, sowie in der j\u00fcdischen Ramaz Upper School, wo ein Projekttag zur Vorbereitung einer Gedenkst\u00e4ttenreise zu den ehemaligen NS-Vernichtungslagern stattfand. Am Freitagabend stand ein Besuch des Shabbat Gottesdienstes in der j\u00fcdisch-orthodoxen Congregation B’nai Jeshurun auf dem Programm.<\/p>\n
